WHAT IS MERITOCRACY

Meritocracy is a system in which the talented are chosen and moved ahead on the basis of their achievement. This is a theoretical form of government as there is not a sole government based on this system. It was coined by Michael Young in 1958 however forms of this system date back to Ancient Greek times. Meritocracy assumes everyone is on the same level to start and the ones who outperforms moves up in rank. However this has yet to be proven because everyone has different strengths, weakness, and roadblocks along the way in of achievement in societies.
